Exhibition «The History of the Salair Region in Stone»

Staff of the Guryevsk Local History Museum have prepared the exhibition «The History of the Salair Region in Stone», where young visitors will learn about the industrial development of the Salair region, from the discovery of silver-bearing ore deposits to the beginning of coal mining. Participants will see rocks, minerals, ore and fossils; learn where and when they were extracted; find out that the discoverer of the first deposit in the territory of the Guryevsk district was the prospector Dmitry Popov; and some fossils can be held in the hand so visitors can try to guess which ancient plant or mollusk each specimen belonged to.
