Exhibits of the P. F. Gushchin Local History Museum

About exhibition

The museum's exhibitions are housed in four halls where visitors can learn about the history, nature, and notable people of the Tulun region. The introductory-information hall contains a historical overview of Tulun, information on the history of medicine in Tulun, the oldest institutions — the medical and pedagogical colleges, a section about the museum's founder P. F. Gushchin, and more. The History Hall presents the history of Tulun, beginning with the indigenous inhabitants — the Buryats. There are sections about the resettlement reform of the early 20th century, the development of industrial cooperation in Tulun, the history of the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War, among others. Museum visitors will see unique exhibits — tools and household items of Siberian peasants. In the Natural Resource Use Hall visitors will learn about Siberian fauna, the history of the oldest enterprises, and will see archaeological and paleontological finds. The exhibition "G. S. Vinogradov and Children's Ethnography" introduces the life and work of our fellow countryman, ethnographer G. S. Vinogradov. This hall features an interactive display — an old classroom, a corner with children's ethnographic items, and much more. Every museum visitor will find an interesting topic or exhibition for themselves.
