Stupino Historical and Local History Museum Exhibition
About exhibition
In the Historical Hall authentic items of the Dyakov culture, the early Slavs, and the Middle Ages are presented, from which the history of Stupino itself begins. The hall also displays exhibits from the estates of the Renaissance era — Count Orlov and the Enlightener Nikolai Novikov. Objects from the late 19th to the early 20th century tell about urban and peasant everyday life as well as the revolutionary period. The "Nature of the Moscow Region" exhibition will be especially interesting for children: here you can see mounted specimens of rare animals and birds, examine the pelts of different animals and their tracks, and hear the calls of the birds. The exhibition is complemented by insects and amphibians of the southern Moscow region. The exhibition "Military Feats of Stupino Residents: The History of the Great Victory" is devoted to the everyday life of a young provincial town, and to the hard work of its inhabitants and industrial enterprises in 1941–1945. It contains authentic items — witnesses to heroism on the battlefields and at the home front. For the 75th anniversary of the Victory the exhibition was supplemented with multimedia elements and electronic labels. Many items took their place in the renewed exhibition for the first time. Another hall, opened in 2020, is called the "Gallery of Glory." It features portraits of all local natives who are Heroes of the Soviet Union and full recipients of the Order of Glory. Twenty-five paintings were executed by Stupino artists B. Chaikin, T. Privalova, V. Chimbarcev, and I. Starostin.
