The historical and cultural center hosts an interactive exhibition, the "Black Fox Museum", using VR technologies that provide a fully immersive experience of the virtual reality of past and present. For the first time in the city the legendary heraldic symbol is presented within a modern exhibition space. The exhibition reflects themes such as the fur trade in Siberia and the yasak (tribute) policy of the Russian state, fox ornamentation in the cultures of the indigenous peoples of the North, the fox as a representative of nature, and other related topics. "The Black Fox Museum" is a new creative and communication platform for children and their parents, dedicated to the city’s past and present and its role in Russian life. Contemporary presentation methods for unique local-history material create a sense of connection to Surgut’s centuries-old history. The exhibition hall recreates a fur fair, giving visitors the opportunity to feel the spirit of the event and to learn interesting facts about how fairs were organized and held in our city. Visitors will see tools used for processing pelts and learn how they work. Guests will also meet a charming Black Fox family and learn interesting facts about the habits and way of life of the animal that is Surgut’s symbol. The use of modern multimedia means allows the exhibition’s themes to be revealed more deeply and engagingly, supports interactive activities, and lets visitors hear the fox’s calls and the sounds of the taiga. The tour held in the "Black Fox" house for young visitors is both entertaining and educational; it reveals the secrets contained in the exhibition and allows children to get better acquainted with the Black Fox.
