The Museum of the History of the Crimean War is located in the historic city center in an early 20th-century building and is a department of the local history museum's military history section. The official opening took place on October 20, 2012. The museum's exhibition tells the main episodes of the 1853-1856 war on the Crimean theatre of operations, with detailed coverage of events in the city of Yevpatoria. The museum displays over 300 exhibits from the collections of the Yevpatoria Local History Museum, including a collection of cold and firearms, awards of the Russian Empire, soldiers' personal items, paintings, ship rigging components, anchors, copies of photographs by the British correspondent R. Fenton, lithographs by the Russian artist V. Timm, and reproductions of paintings by W. Simpson, L. Lebreton, F. Benois, and K. Bossoli. The museum is equipped with multimedia facilities. The tour is accompanied by audiovisual effects. Video terminals show pages from old books and battle scenes, offering a vivid sense of the historical reality of the time. Audio guides are available in several languages.
