Exhibition of the "Bashenin Dacha" Art and Exhibition Complex
About exhibition
When visiting the "Bashenin Dacha" art and exhibition complex, guests learn about the distinguished activities of the owner of the merchant estate, Pavel Andreevich Bashenin, during his tenure as city head (mayor) in 1906–1910. The exhibition space in the fireplace hall is imbued with the spirit of balls and salon gatherings. A working fireplace and piano create comfort and tranquility. One of the displays recreates the interior of a merchant dining room from the late 19th–early 20th century. The museum's collection of paintings is also presented to visitors. The exhibition features the best works from the museum's reserves, paintings by Russian artists of the late 19th–early 20th centuries, including an original by Ivan Aivazovsky. The dacha was intended for summer recreation. Each room has access to a balcony or veranda. From the large veranda there is a view of the preserved old park. The most mysterious room of the summer residence is the attic. During the summer, rotating exhibitions and lively events are held here. There is also a children's interactive area for young visitors.
