Exhibition "Dmitrov Region from Ancient Times"
About exhibition
The Treasury, as part of the Prisutstvennye Mesta complex, was built within the territory of the Dmitrov Kremlin to a standard, "model" design in 1810 by architect E. Ya. Petrov. Part of the left wing of the building survives from an earlier late 18th-century construction. In the 19th century the building housed the treasury, the court, and the police administration. It is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. The three exhibition halls present more than 700 items reflecting the history of our region from the earliest times to the beginning of the 18th century. The history begins with fossils of the earliest living creatures that inhabited our territory 300–150 million years ago, as well as stone artifacts made by the ancient inhabitants of our region some 8,000 years ago, and concludes with works by Dmitrov craftsmen and the weaponry of Russian warriors, household items of the 12th–17th centuries, and a model of the Medieval Dmitrov Kremlin created after a drawing by A.M. Vasnetsov.
