The drawing "Before the Storm" from the Baikal series was created by Sergey Nikolaevich Bessonov in 1961. The work is done in watercolor on paper. The foreground shows a stretch of shore with a group of trees near the water. To the right, three boats are visible near the shore — two of them have two people in them. On the opposite shore there are high mountains with snow—capped peaks, they are closed by a chain of rocks. The sky is covered with clouds.
