Vinogradovsky District Historical Museum
About museum
The Vinogradovsky Historical Museum is the keeper of the past and present of Vinogradovsky District. It was opened on January 21, 1970 at the initiative of local residents and became state-owned on October 1, 1993. The museum currently houses about 10,000 items, which are continually being added to. The exhibition is located in four halls and includes themes such as 'Nature of Dvinovazhye', 'Motifs of the Northern Village', 'How the Great Victory Was Forged', and 'Metric Books — a Source of Genealogy'. Particularly valuable are collections of spindles decorated with Boretskaya painting, numismatics (including a coin of the Golden Horde from the late 14th century), as well as notices of those killed and missing in action during the Great Patriotic War (World War II) for those conscripted by the Vinogradovsky military enlistment office.
