About museum

The manor house was built in 1860–1870 by the local landowner G. V. Molostvov (1827–1894) — an adjutant to the commander-in-chief of the Caucasian Army, a major general. The last owner, Vladimir Germanovich Molostvov, a representative of an old Russian noble family, served as the leader of the nobility of the Tetyushsky Uyezd and as an honorary justice of the peace. His wife, Elizaveta Vladimirovna Ber (1873–1938), was the younger sister of the poet B. V. Ber. The Molostvovs were friends with L. N. Tolstoy, visiting the writer in Yasnaya Polyana, and with Gorky, etc. After the February events of 1917, V. G. Molostvov performed the duties of a commissioner of the Provisional Government in the uyezd.

In the 1930s the estate housed a school for kolkhoz (collective farm) youth, later a Writers' Creative House, and a Pioneer camp.

A two-storey house, the left wing of which is three storeys because of a tower located there with a pyramidal roof and triangular pediments on each side. The first floor is rusticated; beneath the windows are flat rectangular niches. The second floor is articulated by pilasters into four sections; the windows are rectangular with dentilled (toothed) surrounds. The same ornamentation decorates the wide cornice of the building. The areas under the second-floor windows are accentuated by flat niches. A monument of residential architecture from the eclectic period with Classicist tendencies.

By decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan dated July 7, 2000, a new historical-architectural and natural monument (IAPP) called "Dolgaya Polyana" was established in the district. The territory includes a picturesque landscape preserved without significant changes, natural complexes, historical objects, and surviving stylized elements of pre-revolutionary park design (birch, larch, linden and poplar alleys planted by V. G. Molostvov in the early 20th century; a combination of various tree species; rare plant species) that have ecological and aesthetic value. Its purpose is to preserve the historical-architectural and garden-park ensemble of the Molostvov manor house and to create conditions for scientific research and educational activities.
