Tula Historical and Architectural Museum
About museum
In 1998 the Historical, Architectural and Landscape Museum 'Tula Necropolis' was established, founded by Archpriest Rostislav Lozinsky (1912–1994). It was the first museum in Russia dedicated to the study, preservation and promotion of Tula's historic necropolises. In 2012 the museum acquired additional premises in the city's old houses, and in 2013 it was renamed the Tula Historical and Architectural Museum (TIAM). It houses the permanent exhibition 'Old Tula Pharmacy', featuring equipment from different eras, old books and recipes, as well as the microminiature 'The Shod Tula Flea' by Nikolai Aldunin. Museum staff have developed various guided routes around the city, and in summer evening tours to the All Saints Necropolis are held. Thus the museum invites residents and visitors to learn about Tula's history.
