Tarusa Museum of the Tsvetaeva Family
About museum
At the Tarusa Museum of the Tsvetaeva Family materials related to M. I. Tsvetaeva and her family are presented. This memorial site was opened on October 4, 1992, in the house purchased in 1899 by Marina Tsvetaeva's grandfather. Here the sisters Marina and Anastasia Tsvetaeva lived in 1907–1910, and their father — Ivan Vasilievich Tsvetaev — in 1903–1912. The museum displays furniture from the Moscow house on Trekhprudny Lane, items that belonged to Marina and her relatives, as well as materials dedicated to family members and friends. This cultural center holds the annual Tsvetaeva celebration, as well as Tsvetaeva scholarly readings and a children's festival-competition. Various tours are also offered: "The Tsvetaeva Family and Tarusa", "Literary Tarusa", "Tsvetaeva's Tarusa" and "Tarusa: History and Modernity".
