Tarusa Art Gallery
About museum
The Tarusa Art Gallery was founded in May 1963. In early 1968 it became a branch of the Kaluga Regional Art Museum. The core of the museum's collection was formed by collections of Russian painting, porcelain, faience, glass, Western European painting and decorative-applied arts donated by the agronomist N. P. Rakitsky. V. A. Vatagin gave the gallery a number of his wooden sculptures, a large number of drawings, watercolors and autolithographs. Works were also received from the Tretyakov Gallery. The Tarusa Art Gallery actively organizes exhibitions and collects works of contemporary art.
