Siberian Memorial Art Gallery
About museum
The Siberian Memorial Art Gallery is located in the famous Stokvartirny House, built in 1937 to a design by Andrey Kryachkov. It comprises five exhibition halls, regarded as a world architectural masterpiece and one of the main symbols of Novosibirsk. On May 8, 2017, the gallery halls were opened to visitors on the eve of the 72nd Victory Day anniversary. In March 2018 the gallery received the status of an independent cultural institution. The halls display paintings by Veniamin Karpovich Chebanov, a participant in the Great Patriotic War who was an eyewitness to combat. At the center of the exhibition is a painting-diorama (2.7 by 10 m) dedicated to the combat confrontation of the Siberian Volunteer Division with the Nazi invaders. The gallery hosts master classes, lectures, art and photo exhibitions, meetings with military reenactors, film screenings, family weekends and other events.
