About museum

The museum was opened on December 1, 2009, and is located on the first and second floors. As of 2021 the museum collection comprises 2,510 items. It is constantly supplemented by donations from local residents and visitors from other regions. The exhibits gradually illustrate the history of the district. Permanent exhibitions: "A Look into the Past", "Life of the District Territory in 1922–1940", "Labor and Combat Feats of Sharan Residents", "People Whom Sharan Residents Are Proud Of", "History of Public Organizations", "A Time of Hopes and Successes", "Ethnography", "Nature Corner". The museum is an active center of the district's cultural life: guided tours, lessons, patriotic sessions and other events are held. More than 2,000 people visit it each year. Research and exploratory work are used to create new exhibitions, presentation materials and other activities.
