Rostov-Yaroslavl Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve
About museum
Gallery, a collection of coach bells and small bells, a 16th-century altar cross, a collection of finift enamel — all this will give an incredible impression of the former beauty and splendor of the Rostov Kremlin. Over time the entire complex of the Rostov-Yaroslavl diocese lost its significance: church services ceased and the metropolitan's courtyard became deserted. Everything changed after the opening of the Museum of Church Antiquities: the buildings were restored and the museum attracted the attention of the cultural public. Donations were made by representatives of the clergy, the arts and culture, and after the Revolution the museum changed its name and status. Today, in the Rostov Kremlin you can see a unique collection of coach bells and small bells, a 16th-century altar cross, and a collection of finift enamel. Visiting the museum gives an impression of the former beauty and splendor of the Rostov Kremlin.
