M.A. Trenin District Local History Museum, Uvelsky settlement
About museum
A museum plays a key role in introducing any town or district: it is the area's calling card and allows visitors to become acquainted with its history. On May 7, 2000, the museum in the settlement of Uvelsky was officially opened in honor of the 55th anniversary of the Soviet people's Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The 100 sq. m building houses four exhibition halls presenting the history of the region's settlement, events of the Civil War, the history of public education, the participation of local residents in the Great Patriotic War, and the development of industry, agriculture, culture, healthcare, and sports. The museum's displays include a model stove, tools, household utensils, Cossack clothing, a list of district residents who died during the war, and information about local enterprises. The museum has 10 albums on display; visitors can watch a video and listen to the program 'Sounds of the Uvelsky Museum.'
