Pavilion 'Besovy Sledki'
About museum
The pavilion was built in 1968 during the construction of the Vygostrovskaya hydroelectric power station. After years of use it fell into disrepair and began to collapse. To protect the petroglyphs on the rock surface, a thick layer of wood shavings was laid, after which the pavilion was closed to visitors. From 1999, Besovy Sledki remained unseen by people for more than twenty years. In 2017 restoration of the pavilion began, and on May 21, 2021 the grand opening of the new pavilion took place. According to estimates, the images on the rock date to the 4th–3rd millennia BCE. For comparison, the pyramids at Giza were built between 2589 and 2504 BCE. The main figure in this group of rock paintings is Bes and his tracks, along with many other images of various sizes. Initially there were about five hundred of them, and the entire rock contains eight of Bes's tracks. In the lower right corner of the rock is an image of Bes himself.
