Siberian Communications Museum

Lectures, conferences, master classes, exhibitions and guided tours are held at the museum. The museum is located in the Main Post Office building, constructed in 1916 to a design by A. D. Kryachkov. The museum's primary purpose is to study the history of the communications industry in the Siberian regions. The museum collection contains more than 5,000 exhibits reflecting the development of telecommunications over recent decades. Exhibits include Morse telegraph devices, containers for transporting valuable mail, the uniform of a communications station chief, switches for semi-automatic long-distance communication, decade-step telephone exchanges, telephones, the first mass-produced KVN-49 televisions, radios, tape recorders, computers, cables and much more. The museum's exhibition is intended for a wide audience: industry specialists, schoolchildren, family visitors and people interested in the history of science and technology. The museum hosts various events: lectures, conferences, master classes, exhibitions and guided tours.
