About museum
On July 12, 1986 the museum was founded at the initiative of the public. In 1990 it was moved to a new building on the old foundation of the parish school where S. Y. Lemeshev studied from 1911 to 1914. The museum exhibits family photographs, furniture from the Kvashnin house, paintings and wooden utensils made by the pupils and teachers of the school. The second hall displays exhibits relating to the years of study at the Moscow Conservatory and the Stanislavski Studio. Also presented is a fragment of the singer's dressing-room interior with memorial items, posters, set-design sketches, playbills, the score of P. I. Tchaikovsky's opera 'Eugene Onegin', the stage costume of Lensky and other materials that convey an idea of Sergey Yakovlevich's extensive concert activity on various stages before diverse audiences, as well as his work on radio and in film.
