Museum of Russian Lubok and Naive Art
About museum
In 1998 the first Museum of Naive Art in Russia was founded in Moscow; since 2003 it has been a State Cultural Institution of the City of Moscow, and since 2012 — a State Budgetary Cultural Institution of the City of Moscow. The museum's goal is to popularize naive art and outsider art, preserve works by domestic naive artists, and develop and strengthen international contacts among naive artists, outsider artists, and enthusiasts of naive and marginal art. The museum organizes academic conferences, exhibitions, and festivals, and is engaged in research and publishing activities. The museum's collection includes works by well-known naive artists, as well as collections of pictorial and graphic works, decorative-applied art, and a unique collection of wooden sculpture. The museum acquires works by contemporary artists and classics of naive art, and forms and replenishes its collection of conceptual blocks.
