Museum of the East (Pavilion No. 13)
About museum
Pavilion No. 13 is one of the few surviving pavilions from the 1939 All-Union Exhibition. The project was proposed to the architect K. S. Alabyan, and his associate S. A. Safaryan developed the drawings based on his sketches. The pavilion of the Armenian SSR on Friendship of Peoples Square was built in seven months. Initially it housed an exhibition dedicated to the history and culture of the Armenian SSR and its achievements. In 1964 the pavilion was renamed "Food Industry", and in 1967 "Healthcare", with the exhibition changing accordingly. In 2019 the pavilion was restored for the Museum of the East and opened to visitors for the first time in its new capacity. This pavilion is a unique historical monument and represents a rich cultural heritage.
