K. E. Tsiolkovsky Museum-Apartment
About museum
On September 19, 1997, the K. E. Tsiolkovsky Museum-Apartment was opened. The center of the exhibition features a reconstruction of 'Tsiolkovsky's Creative Laboratory of the 1880s–1890s', created based on the scientist's autobiographies, the memories of his wife and daughter, and accounts of his contemporaries. On display are a writing desk, books and fragments of manuscripts from Tsiolkovsky's library, drawing and writing instruments, a homemade lamp and an aerodynamic device. Also presented are instruments and models made by Tsiolkovsky himself. The 'Scientific Relations' section provides information about Tsiolkovsky as a member of the scientific community of the 1880s to the early 1890s. On the second floor visitors can learn about Konstantin Eduardovich's pedagogical activities and view unique archival documents, including records of physics lessons with grades and drawings of instruments. In 'Tsiolkovsky's Classroom' there is a school desk, a spyglass and physics instruments used in the real school and in the diocesan school.
