Merchant Tea Room Museum
About museum
\r\nOn June 7, 2019, a subdivision of the Sarapul Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve — the 'Merchant Tea Room' Museum — was opened, located in the former large wing on the grounds of the Bashenin Art and Exhibition Complex (Dacha Bashenin). It houses samovars, teapots, glass holders (podstakanniki), porcelain, faience and majolica tableware, teaspoons, boxes for storing tea and confectionery, and gingerbread boards. Visitors can learn about the origins of European and Russian tea ware, and attend museum lessons, family gatherings, master classes and interactive events to discover tea-brewing methods of different peoples and the secrets of printed gingerbread. In addition, every month members of the city club 'Masteritsa' present the 'NesluCHAYnye Gifts' exhibition-sale (a pun meaning 'Not-Just-Tea Gifts'), where visitors can purchase souvenirs and other items.
