About museum

On May 18, 1992 the Museum of the History of the Development of Education in Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk Region was opened. This was done at the initiative of veteran teachers and with the support of NIPKRiPRO by order of the regional education department. Since that day and to the present, the museum has been headed by Valentina Aleksandrovna Orlova. It performs several functions: a scientific and methodological center in the field of museum studies and museum pedagogy, a center for advanced training and retraining of teachers and heads of educational institutions, a support center for experimental activities in the field of museum studies and museum pedagogy, and a center for working with teachers. In addition, the museum remains a museum in the classical sense and carries out the main museum functions.
