Road of Life Museum
About museum
All this allows visitors to vividly imagine the complex and courageous deeds of Leningrad's defenders.
On November 14, 1968, by order No. 443 of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, a branch of the Central Naval Museum 'Road of Life' was established. Before that, an exhibition about participants in the events on the Road of Life was displayed in two halls of the Osinovets school. In 2016, for Navy Day, a new museum building was constructed, symbolizing a block of Ladoga ice. The main museum exhibition was created there, complementing the large-scale exhibits located outdoors. It tells the story of the creation and operation of the ice highway that saved the lives of thousands of Leningrad's defenders. The exhibition features hero ships, a transport aircraft, artillery pieces, and a hangar for oversized exhibits. The museum branch enables visitors to vividly imagine the complex and courageous deeds of Leningrad's defenders.
