Flour Merchants' Court
About museum
\r\nAt the end of the 18th century construction of the Flour Merchants' Court began on the Volga Embankment. It consisted of two-storey brick shops, with a gallery on the lower floor. Because the main goods sold there were flour, grain and cereals, the place came to be known as the 'Flour'. In the 19th century some of the shops were rebuilt, and in the 20th century the gallery along the northern side of the court was removed. In 1993 the Rybinsk Museum-Reserve opened on the site and has been carrying out restoration work continuously. In 2020 new exhibition halls were opened in the Flour Merchants' Court building, which regularly host thematic exhibitions and museum projects in cooperation with other museums in the region.
