About museum
'Krasny Vympel' is one of five pre-revolutionary museum ships located in Russia. It was built in 1911 at a Finnish shipyard and named after the Governor of Kamchatka V. S. Zavoyko. The ship was assigned to the port of Tallinn and then sailed through the Baltic, the Atlantic, the Suez Canal, the Indian and Pacific Oceans to reach Kamchatka. In 1923 the ship received a new name - 'Krasny Vympel'. Since then it has served as a museum and local history center. This ship bears witness to Russia's rich history and the past of its heroes.
