About museum
The State Budgetary Cultural Institution "V. P. Astafyev Literary Museum" is located in the town of Chusovoy in the Perm Region. In 1945 V. P. Astafyev moved there with his wife, Chusovoy native Maria Semyonovna Koryakina. He lived there until 1962, after which he moved to Perm and later to Vologda. During his time there he produced his first literary works, was admitted to the Union of Writers of the RSFSR, and completed the Advanced Literary Courses at the A. M. Gorky Literary Institute. The town of Chusovoy is also the site of the I–XI Small Astafyev Readings. The museum's purpose is to preserve and study the material and spiritual cultural monuments of Prikamye, to promote knowledge, and to organize public leisure. The museum features the permanent exhibitions "Astafyev's Chusovoy" and "Universal Astafyev", as well as the interactive room "The House That the Writer V. P. Astafyev Built". Tours begin at 38 Frunze Street. The interactive room museum offers a virtual tour of the house and allows visitors to view all the items that were in the Astafyevs' home.
