Kuban Literary Museum
About museum
The Kuban Literary Museum was opened on September 1, 1988, in the house of the appointed ataman of the Black Sea Cossack Host, Ya. G. Kukharenko, built in the first quarter of the 19th century. It presents the history of Kuban's literary life from the 18th century to the present day. In the museum visitors can see various books, periodicals, and materials dedicated to D. Bedny, V. Vishnevsky, V. Mayakovsky, N. Ostrovsky and other writers who took part in the Great Patriotic War. Special attention is paid to the house's former owner — Ya. G. Kukharenko. The museum also displays part of the library that was aboard a torpedo boat that sank in 1943. The museum hosts tours, lectures, museum lessons, literary evenings, meetings with Kuban writers, and permanent and traveling exhibitions.
