M. Tsvetaeva and A. Tsvetaeva Literary and Art Museum
About museum
In 1991 the first museum in Russia dedicated to the Tsvetaevs was established in Alexandrov, located on the grounds of the estate where the family of Anastasia Tsvetaeva, sister of the poet Marina Tsvetaeva, lived. Marina Tsvetaeva’s “Alexandrov summer” (1915–1917) took place here — one of the most productive periods of her work. The time spent in Alexandrov became for the Tsvetaev family a period of happiness and spiritual and creative uplift. The museum houses permanent exhibitions of various kinds, recognized as masterpieces of museum design. The museum organizes three festivals and is the city’s leading cultural and educational centre.
