Lensky Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve 'Druzhba'
About museum
The Druzhba Museum-Reserve is located on the right bank of the Lena River, 70 km from the city of Yakutsk. It was established on the historic site of Yakutsk's original founding in 1632 under the leadership of Petr Beketov. This site was created through public efforts on an area of 1,041 hectares, of which 40 hectares are occupied by museum facilities. The museum's main thematic focus is historical and architectural. Its grounds feature 23 historical and architectural sites, including monuments of history and culture and wooden structures reconstructed or relocated from uluses. Mass events and national holidays are held here, and there is also a separate park area with a 'Green Theater'. The number of museum visitors has increased each year: in 1990 there were 891 visitors, and in 2015 that number rose to 23,000.
