Cultural and Exhibition Center 'Ust-Balyk'
About museum
The Cultural and Exhibition Center 'Ust-Balyk' was opened on February 10, 2010, at a historic site of the city of Nefteyugansk. Previously, the city's first street — Gagarin Street — was located here. A promenade with a view of the Yuganskaya Ob River has now been built on its site. Wooden houses representing the city's historical past have been erected nearby. They house the museum exhibitions of CEC 'Ust-Balyk'. Permanent exhibitions include 'Residential House of the 1960s' and 'A City Born of Oil'. Temporary exhibitions from the museum's collections and traveling exhibitions from various regions of Russia are also held. One of the buildings houses the Society of Old-Timers of Nefteyugansk. They actively cooperate with the museum complex: they participate in joint events and exhibitions and assist in forming the museum collections. Thus, CEC 'Ust-Balyk' has become not only the center of the city's cultural life but also a meeting place for representatives of different generations.
