About museum
The Cultural and Historical Complex “Akhulgo” was opened on January 20, 2017 on Mount Akhulgo in memory of the events of the Caucasian War of 1839. The complex is an ensemble consisting of a 17-meter-high signal tower and an exhibition hall with displays. Here you can see artifacts from the Caucasian War, portraits of statesmen who participated in the events of 1817–1864, as well as a copy of the panorama “Storming of the aul Akhulgo” by the artist Franz Alexeevich Rubo. The museum features a miniature model of Akhulgo and its surroundings. From the tower of the complex, visitors can enjoy majestic mountain peaks, the valley of the Andi Koisu River and the Salatau mountain range, the Ashiltinka waterfall and the mountains of the Gimrin Range.
