About museum

In 1986 the Krasnogvardeysky District Council of People's Deputies adopted a decision to establish a museum of revolutionary, labor and military glory. In 1997 the museum was granted state status and was attached to the Department of Culture of the Krasnogvardeysky District State Administration. In 2002 the museum's collections were merged with those of public museums, after which the Krasnogvardeysky Local History Museum was created. In 2004 the museum was recognized as a state budgetary cultural institution. The museum houses more than 15,000 exhibits related to the history of the district and the region, as well as to the lives and activities of the region's distinguished citizens.
