About museum

The local history museum opened on September 1, 1992, and is a permanent cultural, educational, and research institution. The museum's collection includes exhibits reflecting the culture of the small-numbered indigenous peoples of Kamchatka, such as religious perceptions of nature and household and ritual items. The importance of the collection grows every year due to increasing self-awareness among indigenous peoples and the younger generation's interest in their culture.
