Zeya Local History Museum
About museum
The Zeya Local History Museum is a place where the town's history, landmarks and culture are preserved. It was opened in 1965 in the building of a Chinese snack bar, and in 2001 a branch of the Local History Museum — the Museum of the History of Gold Mining — was opened there. This municipal institution has existed since 2005. It houses more than 21,000 items, including photographs and documents of World War II participants, awards, settlers' costumes and household items. The museum hosts exhibitions, guided tours of its halls and city overview tours, and themed lessons for preschool and secondary school students. Costumed events, quizzes, performances and much more are organized. The museum's halls are always open to residents and visitors of the town. Staff will gladly conduct tours and tell about the exhibits and the history of the native land. There is always something interesting and useful at the museum!
