Palace of Culture of Dygulybgey village

A few hundred meters from the Rostov–Baku highway stands an architecturally interesting building. This remarkable structure is the Palace of Culture of Dygulybgey village. The choice of site and its construction were greatly influenced by the then chairman of the agricultural artel "Kyzburun", N.N. Kokov.

The design of the Palace of Culture was developed by the design institute "Kabbalkagroproekt" and the building was commissioned in 1997. The Palace of Culture was officially opened in 1999. The cultural and leisure facilities are functionally connected to each other, and the administrative offices are conveniently located. The Palace houses a library, a museum, a sports hall, and an auditorium. The auditorium has a seating capacity of 550.

The Palace hosts meetings with veterans of war and labor, figures from science and literature, and all kinds of concerts. In September 2001, when the 80th anniversary of the statehood of KBR and the 444th anniversary of Kabarda’s incorporation into the Russian state were celebrated, Dygulybgey village and its Palace of Culture were visited by the President of Russia V.V. Putin. Elders of the village, heads of agricultural enterprises, school principals, and teachers were invited to the meeting with V.V. Putin. Everyone had the opportunity to speak with the head of state about village problems and to express their viewpoints.

In the Palace’s hall professional and amateur performers and young athletes demonstrated their skills for the President of Russia.

Currently the Palace of Culture hosts 16 cultural and leisure groups with a total of 1,130 participants. The creative ensembles «Ридада» and «Махуэгъэпс» hold the titles “People’s” and “Exemplary”.

Since the day the Palace was commissioned, it has been led by Goguzokova Oksana Khalifovna. Thanks to her efforts and skilled leadership, the Palace’s equipment has been constantly improved, and a favorable atmosphere for work and creative activity has been created there.
