Kopeysk Local History Museum
About museum
The Kopeysk Local History Museum was established in 1967 and serves as a center for the moral and patriotic education of children and youth. The museum staff impart knowledge about Russia's heroic history, military glory and commemorative dates, helping to shape ideals of selfless service to the Fatherland. Based on methodological developments by T. E. Karachevtseva, specialists conduct research and study unique archives for further use. In addition, scientific and practical conferences are held annually, and the program "I — a Kopeysk resident" has been developed, covering children aged 6 to 18. The museum holds various contests and quizzes to help people learn about the region's history and culture and to foster patriotism. The museum also actively develops publishing activities and issues catalogs, brochures, leaflets, posters and collections with information about the city and the region.
