Konyshevsky Local History Museum
About museum
On September 22, 1995 the Konyshevsky Museum was founded; it opened on May 9, 1996. In 2005 it joined the Kursk Regional Local History Museum. The museum's collection consists of more than three thousand items and is displayed in an area of 70 sq. m. The exhibition presents the history of the Konyshevsky land from ancient times to the present day. Various displays are shown, including archaeological finds, rural household items from the 19th — the first half of the 20th century, currency items, and materials on the history of the liberation from the Nazi invaders in 1943. The names of notable figures associated with the Konyshevsky land are also given, including writers V. A. Volzhina, L. G. Nalivaiko, N. I. Grebnev, librettist V. F. Shirkov, and artists N. V. Ilyin and A. N. Gorbachev. Around 5,000 people visit the museum each year.
