Koygorodsky Local History Museum
About museum
On December 23, 1976, the Koygorodsky Local History Museum was founded in Koygorodka. The idea for its creation belonged to World War II veteran Sharapov Pavel Prokopyevich. He began working in May 1975, when he prepared an exhibition about war veterans for Victory Day. Over several years, Pavel Prokopyevich collected objects, photographs and documents that were later used to organize the museum's exhibitions. Today it features thematic displays such as "Archaeology of the Koygorodsky District", "The Soviet Period", "Peasant Life at the End of the 19th — Beginning of the 20th Century", "Posvodz", "Leafing Through the Pages of the Past", "I Remember! I Am Proud!", "Memory and Time". Since 2008, a craft salon called "Bereginya" has been operating on the museum's premises.
