Klyavlinsky Local History Museum
About museum
The Local History Museum was founded in 2001 and opened on March 20, 2003. The founder of the initial collections is Vasily Ivanovich Pavlov. Here visitors can learn about the history of Klyavlinsky District, its traditions and customs. The museum's collection contains more than 2,000 exhibits presented in three permanent exhibition halls. Visitors show particular interest in the "Russian Izba" hall, where authentic exhibits from the late 19th — early 20th centuries related to peasant housing are displayed. The "Room of Military Glory" exhibits items that recall fellow countrymen who took part in the Great Patriotic War and in combat operations in Afghanistan and Chechnya. There is also a historical and ethnographic exhibition "Peoples of the Klyavlinsky District," which tells about the traditions, rituals and costumes of the peoples living in the Klyavlinsky District. The Mordvins, Chuvash, Tatars and other peoples who form a friendly community live here.
