Kimovsk Historical and Local Lore Museum named after V. A. Yudin
About museum
In 2004, a historical and local lore museum was opened in the Kimovsky District. The museum's main task is to collect, study, and present materials on the history and culture of the district, as well as its natural landscape. Since 2017, the museum has become not only a cultural center but also a public social space where various events and activities take place. There is something of interest here for people of all ages — from historical research to simple relaxation. Preserving historical and cultural heritage and fostering a respectful attitude toward the homeland's history are the museum's primary objectives. In 2012 the museum was given the name of V. A. Yudin. Vladimir Alekseevich is a descendant of Epifan merchants, a photographer, landscape painter, poet, and the author of two books about Kimovsk and its residents. He actively participates in city and interregional festivals and ceremonies, leads walking tours, meetings with interesting people, and museum lessons. Most of the exhibits in the museum come from V. A. Yudin's personal collection.
