L.A. Klimentovskaya Art Gallery
About museum
In the city center, on the ground floor of an old mansion, stands the Art Gallery of Honored Artist of Russia Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Klimentovskaya. It is the only single-artist museum in Kaluga. The artist received this honor (posthumously) not only because she was an outstanding master, but also because she wanted her works to belong to the city. The gallery was established in 2001 based on a collection donated to the people of Kaluga by the artist's daughter. The exhibition includes 44 original works, documents, photographs, and personal belongings of Lyudmila Klimentovskaya, as well as watercolor works by the artist's daughter and son-in-law. The gallery is not only a museum but also conducts cultural and educational activities aimed at all age and social groups. It hosts guided tours, creative meetings with figures of culture and art, concert programs, theatrical performances, poetry and literary evenings, master classes, and lectures.
