Biryukov Historical and Cultural Museum
About museum
In the village, many still know who owned the manor before the Revolution. A few years ago, the elders would happily tell stories about the former owners, about their kindness and care for their village, as well as about their particularities. Their names and fame remain in the history of the Kostroma region and Russia. The estate helps to understand why the gentry estates were built the way they were. In 2010, a museum was opened in the house built in 1835, showcasing rare items from the 19th–20th centuries that belonged to the Biryukovs and the residents of the village of Ivanovskoye.
