Historical and Local Lore Museum, Akhunovo village
About museum
On November 7, 1967, the Historical and Local Lore Museum was opened in the village of Akhunovo. The decision to establish it was made at a meeting of the kolkhoz party committee on April 13, 1966. In 1980, after renovations, the museum moved into the Bay house built in 1880 and received a permanent location there. The museum houses materials on the village's history from pre-revolutionary times, items related to the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War, as well as ethnographic objects. The museum has a rich collection of manuscripts and printed materials, a 54-volume set of newspapers compiled by Vali Sultanov, awards of participants of the Great Patriotic War, weapons and rare household items, the saber of Zainulla Hayatov, jewelry by Gumer Khabirov, photographs, and scholarly works. The museum represents a very rich historical collection and attracts visitors from various regions.
