Historical and Ethnographic Museum 'Golden Stream'
About museum
The 'Golden Stream' Museum has become an excellent opportunity for local residents and visitors to Karelia to learn about the history and culture of the region.
The 'Golden Stream' Museum is the youngest historical and ethnographic museum in Karelia. It all began with a coin found in the foundation of an outbuilding. By the time the museum opened, the collection numbered about five hundred exhibits and continues to grow. The exhibition presents household items from the late 19th to the early 20th century. The museum offers educational sessions, lectures on the history of Karelia and national costume, as well as an interactive program 'Conversations over Evening Tea in the Tavern'. The museum shop sells works by folk artisans, printed materials, and souvenirs. Here local residents and visitors to Karelia can get acquainted with the history and culture of the region. The 'Golden Stream' Museum opened up interesting and unusual opportunities for them.
