State Exhibition Hall of the History of the War in Afghanistan
About museum
The exhibition hall, covering 177.4 sq. m., is a place of remembrance for the war, for those who survived it and for those who died. It was established to present the history of Afghanistan and to commemorate fallen servicemen, including those from the Eastern Administrative District of the capital. The exhibition consists of materials that allow visitors to understand Afghanistan's distinct identity: national clothing, books, leaflets, seals, photographs, diaries, certificates, personal belongings and letters. The display is completed by a memorial niche with the Eternal Flame and memorial candles. Visitors are invited to feel the full weight of the war and to grasp the importance of remembrance. To that end, the hall hosts various events: military-patriotic activities with schoolchildren and students, modern history lessons, lessons in courage, and work with the mothers of the fallen. The hall of remembrance becomes a place for honoring memory and for inspiring the struggle for peace.
