The State Museum-Reserve 'Zaraysk Kremlin' houses a unique collection of fine and decorative-applied art objects acquired from the noble estates of the Zaraysk uyezd. From the archaeological exhibition, which presents finds from the area's oldest prehistoric site, including a bison figurine and two 'Paleolithic Venus' figurines, to the exhibition 'Russian Art of the 18th–20th centuries' with a unique selection of noble portraits, the ceremonial portrait of Countess M. A. Keller by L. Bakst, works by late Peredvizhniki of the academic trend, as well as a porcelain dessert service of the Vielgorsky counts and works of Western European art of the 17th–20th centuries, the museum has been attracting visitors with its collections for more than 100 years.
