About museum
The palace and park ensemble “Pavlovsk” was created in the era of the flourishing of Russian Classicism at the end of the 18th – beginning of the 19th centuries by a host of well-known architects and decorators of the time: Ch. Cameron, V. Brenna, D. Quarenghi, P. Gonzago.

\r\nThe palace's halls contain works of art purchased or commissioned by the owners of Pavlovsk, as well as those received as gifts from European monarchs during travels in 1781–1782. A vast collection of paintings, porcelain, bronze, furniture, carpets and sculpture is presented in the interiors of Pavlovsk Palace. Among the masterpieces are works by P. Rubens, K. Van Loo, I. Martos and G. Robert.

\r\nThe tastes of Grand Duke Paul Petrovich and his wife Maria Feodorovna are reflected in the layout of the landscape park: picturesque scenes of nature along the banks of the Slavyanka River, pastoral and classical pavilions create Pavlovsk's reputation as a romantic park, whose territory covers about 600 ha. Poets, painters and composers sought inspiration here. I. Strauss gave concerts.

\r\nFor more than two centuries Pavlovsk, the great joint creation of human genius and nature, has given people an enchanting sense of harmony and spiritual balance. This masterpiece of world heritage is under the protection of UNESCO.
